It’s only 2 years too late but hey, we’ll take it.
Apparently, the new iOS 15.4 beta allows Face ID to function even with a face mask on!
The new feature will be able to “recognize the unique features around the eye”, which is amazing but also terrifying like all new technology.
You’ll need to re-scan your face if you want to use this function, just head to settings and you’ll be able to switch on ‘Use Face ID with a Mask’ and an ‘Add Glasses’ option if you also wear glasses with your mask.
