Taylor Swift has broken records with the release of The Tortured Poets Department.

The brand new album dropped on Friday and as expected, Swifties have gone crazy for it. The album became the most streamed album on Spotify in a single day, racking up more than 300 million streams in 24 hours. For reference, the second highest also belongs to Taylor with Midnights at 185 million streams, third being 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Beyonce’s new album, Cowboy Carter is at number 18 with 76 million.

Taylor’s single Fortnight with Post Malone became the most streamed song in a single day, with 4 other songs from the album cracking the Top 10. Adele taking second place with Easy On Me at 20 million.

But it was a song called, thanK you aIMee that has everyone talking.

Taylor has hidden a not-so-subtle reference to Kim Kardashian in the title, capitalising the K, I and M. It’s a song about a high school bully, and references how Kim targeted Taylor in the media when she was married to Kanye West.

The song is pretty scathing, with lyrics like “when I picture my hometown, there’s a bronze spray-tanned statue of you.” And “one day your kid comes home singing a song that only us two is gonna know is about you.” And writing that her mother wished Kim was dead…

Taylor’s clever song writing skills have fans dissecting each song since the album is full of innuendos about not only celebs but messages to past lovers like Matt Healy. The Tortured Poets Department is a truly a labyrinth for fans to uncover, have a listen for yourself to hear all the inside goss that Tay Tay has dropped…
