The public health order that required employees to work from home if they were able to has finally been lifted.
The directive for workers to stay home and work remotely has been in place since earlier in the year in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
As of Monday, people will be permitted to return to their workplace, providing they follow COVID-Safe guidelines.
An increase in the number of people in the CBD is expected from this week, despite the Christmas wind-down.
The Sydney Business Chamber told the ABC that the change in policy would see a boost to Sydney’s economy, saying that it will “start to bring the foot traffic back, particularly to the CBD”.
