Tributes are flowing for a dog who was tragically killed in a fire at a Sydney Italian restaurant last week.
On Thursday, paramedics and fire crews rushed to Essenzia Italian on the corner of Devonshire and Crown Streets in Surry Hills at 11am after a delivery truck driver raised the alarm that the building was on fire.
While restaurant manager Angelo Ziotas was rescued, the pet dog who lived in the apartment above, died.
Essenzia Italian has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to the pet.
“RIP LexIe Lou. CEO Lexie Lou Corporation,” it reads.
“It has been a devastating few days as we try to fathom the magnitude of our loss and start to rebuild our lives.
“At this stage, there are more questions than answers as we struggle to understand how this could have happened to us.”
An online fundraiser has been created to help assist the couple.
