A teenage girl has died after being hit by a bus outside a school on the NSW South Coast.
Emergency services were called to South Street in Ulladulla about 3pm on Wednesday after the teenager was struck outside Ulladulla High School.
The girl, who is a student of the school, died at the scene.
The bus driver was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result, police said.
The driver will be taken to hospital for mandatory testing, and a report prepared for the coroner.
A NSW Education Department spokesman said counselling has been made available at the school after the tragedy.
“The Ulladulla High School community and the department are deeply saddened by the tragic death of one of our students this afternoon,” the spokesman said in a statement to AAP.
“Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the student’s family and friends at this most distressing time, and with our staff members who were first responders on the scene.”
