A bushfire is burning in the area of Devlin Road in Castlereagh, and is moving in a north westerly direction towards Tickner Street and Richards Road.
Firefighters are being assisted by waterbombing aircraft, including the Large Air Tanker. Heavy smoke is visible in the area.
Strong south easterly winds may blow embers ahead of the fire and create spot fires. These may threaten homes earlier than the predicted main fire front.
