An elderly man has been rescued after being swept up in an avalanche at Thredbo ski resort.
9News report that the man was hiking with his wife on a dedicated walking track when he was knocked down by the snowfall.
A spokesperson for Fire and Rescue NSW told the publication that firefighters were immediate in responding, and eventually found him waving for help.
He was carried to the Thredbo Medical Centre with a fractured ankle.
This is the second rescue operation in the area in just over 24 hours.
24 hours before this incident, a 10-year-old girl and a man went missing after becoming separated from a group while snowboarding. They were eventually found safe and well.
