Do your kids love animals? Are they passionate about taking care of all creatures, big and small? Then this could be the opportunity of a lifetime!
Ahead of it’s highly anticipated opening, Sydney Zoo is on the hunt for some little animal lovers to take on the job of Mini Zookeepers.
This is the Zoo’s second intake of Mini Zookeepers, with the first group celebrating one year in the position.
They’re now looking out for two more budding animal enthusiasts to join the crew to continue to champion learning and animal conservation, and become an integral part of the upcoming opening of Sydney’s newest zoo in Bungarribee Park.
The two selected Mini zookeepers will get to go on a once in a lifetime trip to Singapore Zoo to learn about animal breeding programs and wildlife conservation, while 50 runners up will get family tickets to Sydney Zoo.
To apply for the position, kids need to be aged between 3 to 15. They should also have a passion for all creatures, and be enthusiastic about learning, curious about the conservation of animals and will help Sydney Zoo in securing a sustainable future for wildlife.
Managing Director of Sydney Zoo, Jake Burgess, said that they decided to bring in a second intake of Mini Zookeepers following the overwhelming response to the program in 2018.
“Sydney Zoo will open its doors by the end of the year and become one of the most significant attractions in Western Sydney. The initiative reinforces our commitment to education and animal welfare, with each Mini Zookeeper playing an important role in making the Zoo a safe and happy new home for its animals.”
