The Easter long weekend is normally a time we get together with friends and family or go for a small weekend trip out of town but it’s going to be very different this year.

Remember, public gatherings of more than 2 people is completely banned which means no Easter egg hunts, or Easter mass or parties

AIR BNB’S

Some of you might be thinking of renting an Airbnb out of town and self-isolating there for the weekend but guys, you can’t.

Non-essential travel is completely banned so that means that while hunkering down in a farmhouse isn’t illegal, travelling there and back could get you into a lot of trouble.

EGG HUNTS IN THE PARK

You are allowed to go to a public park for fresh air and exercise but there can’t be more than 2 of you and you must practice the 1.5m social distancing rule.

So unless you’re egg hunting with 1 other person, sorry- not allowed.

HOWEVER, families can have their own egg hunts in their backyard, just don’t invite anyone over who doesn’t live there.

EASTER MASS

Unfortunately no mass this year unless your church has organised an online stream.

If the religious side of Easter is very important to you, this year will be a bit difficult, but talk to your priest about organising services online, maybe you can help them set it up.

It’s going to be very different from the Easters we’re used to but let’s all stick together and look after each other so we can get back to normal as soon as possible.
