To encourage Aussies to get the Covid vaccination, Qantas is discussing the possibility of offering flight vouchers and frequent flyer points to those who get the jab.

It’s not wholly a selfless act, as Qantas are eager to open up international borders and the travel ban to be removed. The sooner we are vaccinated, the sooner this is a possibility, though the offer is still a good incentive for those getting the jab.

“As a large company that relies on travel to put our people and planes back to work, we’re obviously motivated to help with the national vaccine effort,” Qantas Chief Customer Officer Stephanie Tully said in a statement.

“We’re still thinking through how this would work, but the incentive could be Qantas points, Qantas or Jetstar flight vouchers, or status credits for frequent flyers.”

Apparently, Qantas would be dishing out 1000 Qantas points to those who get the jab, and would also be available for those who have already received their vaccination.

“Qantas is a big supporter of Australia’s vaccine rollout because of what it means for public health, but also because it’s the key to keeping our domestic borders open and safely restarting international travel as well,” Tully said.

Qantas announced last year that they require all passengers to have had their vaccination once international flights resume.
