With Valentine’s Day just over a week away, a man from the UK has wasted no time in trying to score a date.
Mark Rofe, 30, from Sheffield, claimed the traditional methods “weren’t working” and instead splashed the cash on a MASSIVE, 3m high and 6m wide, billboard advertising himself to potential dates.
The sign, which overlooks a busy Manchester road, features a pic of Mark lying on his side and reads: “Single? Date Mark. This could be the sign you’ve been waiting for”.
The dating apps weren’t working, so I bought a billboard and set up a website to stand out and try get a date.

Forget the days of getting catfished on Tinder, auditioning for the Bachelorette and fitting into that stupid green outfit for your local traffic light party.
Instead, as Mark suggests, we should “try and stand out” and all it could cost you is £425 (approx. $830 AUD).
The billboard is seen by approximately 462,000 drivers a week and directs viewers to visit his official website: datingmark.com.uk which, at the time of posting, has received 1004 applications.
If your “friends are getting married” while you’re stuck “struggling to get a date” like Mark, maybe it’s time to dig up that Officeworks voucher your distant Aunt gave you for Chrissy and at the very least invest in a life-size cardboard cut-out of yourself.
Who knows? If you’d go the same lengths as Mark to find the love of your life it could be considered as a stroke of genius, or maybe, quite literally a sign you might’ve been single for WAY TOO LONG…
