After 106 days in lockdown, it’s no surprise that Sydneysiders are dying to leave their homes and get back to normalcy.
Well today, Monday 11th of October, is officially Freedom Day and photos are emerging online that people were lining up at venues across the city before midnight last night to kickstart their Freedom Day right!
After crushing our 70% double vaccination rate last week, restrictions have been relaxed for the fully vaccinated.
5km bubbles no longer exist, you can have up to ten visitors indoors, 30 outdoors, and non-essential venues are allowed to open up again.
Some people were SO desperate for a stiff drink that they lined up in the rain outside venues such as Canterbury Leagues Club before midnight.

Lines were also seen as a number of 24/7 Kmarts, especially across Western Sydney.
Blacktown and Mt Druitt saw people queuing before midnight!
If you’re out and about today then make sure you have your COVID-19 digital certificate ready to go in case you get asked for proof of vaccination, which you probably will be if you’re entering any venues.
