When your partner pops the question, it should be one of the happiest times of your life.
Sure, the occasional Bridezilla, in-law and wet weather may put a dampener on things, BUT celebrating your love with those closest to you is exciting.
Unless your fiancé is this guy.
A bride-to-be has taken to Reddit to share her dilemma after her partner dropped an incredible bombshell.
He doesn’t want her bestie in the wedding party… because she isn’t attractive enough.
Or as our gal with the dilemma puts it – “My fiancé does not want my ‘ugly’ BFF to be in our wedding party”.
Yep. You read that right.
Apparently her 32-year-old partner is worried her BFF will ruin their wedding photos – which she has rightly called “absurd”.
The only thing is, she doesn’t know what to do.
“I feel like my BFF will be assuming she is in the wedding party, but when I don’t ask her she will question it,” she wrote.
“I would feel horrible knowing I didn’t ask her because my fiancé wants good looking people in our party.”
If you’re not already fuming, it gets worse.
Because when she asked him to remove someone from the groom party – he said he didn’t want to.
As far as we’re concerned, it’s not the BFF who is ugly in this situation!
But it seems they’re not alone when it comes to fear of being shamed by someone else’s looks.
One person replied that it could be an issue when they have kids.
“My dad used to introduce one of his secretaries as his daughter and have me hide in the stock room because he didn’t want me to ‘ruin’ his image,” they shared.
While plenty of others were quick to point out that if he’s already that precious about looks, how will he handle it when the bride got older.
“Just wait sweetheart, in twenty years when your looks fade maybe you won’t be allowed in the house because he only wants pretty people there,” one person predicted.
There’s no doubting something has to be done! What would you do?
