If you consider yourself a bit of a green thumb, but often get caught out not being able to identify a species of plant, then we have some good news for you!
A genius has created the Shazam for plants, which helps users identity over 4,000 species. The app called Plant Net has been developed by scientists from four different French research organisations. Data is collated from a large group of social networks, with users encouraged to upload pictures and information to the app. The database is expected to grow as more users download Plant Net.
The app features visualization software, which helps determine which plant is which. It also features the ability to help identify plants that could be dangerous in the wild.
Like Pokemon Go, the app is encouraging users to get outside and explore.
