Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed that the first of the COVID-19 vaccines will be distributed to Aussies next month.
The PM says that he expects the vaccinations to begin across the country in mid-to-late February.
Australia’s body in charge of the approval of medicines and vaccines, the Therapeutic Goods Administration is expecting to receive all the information needed to approve the Pfizer vaccine by mid-January.
Once approved, Aussies would begin being vaccinated against the deadly virus within weeks.
“It is moving considerably faster than normal vaccine approval processes but without skipping a step, without cutting a corner,” Mr Morrison told reporters on Thursday.
