A locally acquired case of COVID-19 has been detected in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The positive case is a man in his 60’s who has not recently travelled overseas, however he works as a driver and transports international flight crew.

The man was tested on Tuesday and was confirmed to have coronavirus on Wednesday. The result will be included in tomorrow’s numbers (Thursday 17 June).

A number of venues of concern have been listed in the suburbs of Vaucluse, Bondi Junction and North Ryde. This includes David Jones and Myer stores, as well as several visits to Belle Cafe.

The screening of the Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard in Cinema 1 at Events Cinema in Bondi Junction on Sunday 13 June from 1:30pm-4pm (1:45pm screening) has been listed as a close contact site. Anyone who was at this particular screen must contact NSW Health, get tested and self-isolate for 14 days from the date they were at the venue regardless of the result.
