You know how when you go out to eat (or used to, it’s certainly been a while for me), and you order something healthy but compensate it by getting a bowl of fries for the table to share?
Or when you’re craving some pizza, you order a few to share with you and your mates so you don’t have to settle for just one type of topping?
Well it looks like these days are over for the moment, with NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian saying that we should no longer be sharing food with each other amid the coronavirus pandemic.
And we reckon the only person who will be happy about this is Joey Tribbiani!
Speaking on the Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning, Gladys told us that as cafes and restaurants being to allow more people inside, it will be safer if each person orders their own meal.
“They’re going okay, So long as we don’t go crazy on June 1st when the pubs and clubs and cafes take more people. We just have to be extra careful,” Gladys told us.
“You still need to keep the social distancing and we’ve put basic rules in place.”
These rules include things like how menus are presented to customers, the cutlery that they are allowed to use and the sort of meals we can order.
“Even basic things like sharing a bowl of chips, everyone has to have their own separate meal and all those things,” Ms Berejiklian added.
“Oh wow, hold up, hold up,” Jackie said in response. “When I’m healthy at a restaurant I like to order a salad and then a bowl of chips to share so then I don’t feel so bad.”
“You can’t do that anymore,” Gladys replied. “Life will be a bit different but we’ll still be able to go out and support businesses and enjoy ourselves.”
So no more sharing people! We guess one good thing about this rule is that you won’t have to fight anyone for the crunchiest chips anymore! You can enjoy them all to yourself without feeling guilty whatsoever!
It certainly won’t do wonders for our iso diets though… Especially with gyms still shut!
