While stuck in isolation a lot of us have been turning to the kitchen to pass the time and I have to say I’m one of these people after I came across the most unbelievably simple cookie recipe that promised me delicious baked goods in just a few minutes.
Now I’m a little ashamed to say that I came across this recipe while scrolling through TikTok but our addiction to that social media app is a whole different issue…
Right now let’s just be thankful for it because it brought us this recipe for cookies that is not only super simple, but only used four ingredients that you’ll probably find in every single household – meaning no trip to the grocery store for these bad boys!
Of course I was apprehensive at first. How could something so simple actually taste as good if not better than cookies that usually take an hour to prep and cook? But trust us, it’s like magic or something.
These bad boys are crispy on the edges with a (and excuse us for using this word) moist middle and they just seem to melt in your mouth! We’d even go as far as to say that they rival subway cookies, which we mean, you know, is a pretty admirable feat!
Okay, now before you head on down to the recipe, we’d say that you shouldn’t make these unless you’re a lover of peanut butter, because yes this is one of the four ingredients and is a pretty big taste-factor.
Also, just a warning, these cookies can get pretty sickly so don’t go shoving five in your mouth because they taste so good. Give yourself a breather between each cookie or else you’ll be nursing a big stomach ache!
Okay now enough chit chat, lets get down to it. All you’ll need is:
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of peanut butter
1 large egg
1 teaspoon of baking soda
And literally you just combine all of that together in a bowl using an electric mixer.
If you’re feeling like spicing it up a little, you can add half a cup of chocolate chips into the mix!
Then you divide the mix into 12 balls and place them on a baking tray, squishing them down in the middle a bit.
I baked mine in an oven pre-heated to 220 degrees fan-forced for eight minutes or until golden brown.
And you’re done! Enjoy and thank us later!
Also a side note, we’ve seen some people (yes, also on TikTok) swapping out the peanut butter for Nutella… So yeah you can bet we’re going to be giving this a go next! Stay tuned!
