There’s no doubting it can be stressful preparing for an interview, which is why we love these tips from Mashable.com!
1. Mirror your interviewer’s body language
Mirror their movements, tone, gestures, breathing pace and so on. It helps to gain trust and makes the feel at ease (just make sure you’re not parroting them).
2. Think about your answers
Don’t feel compelled to answer immediately every time – it’s okay, and ever preferable, to take some extra time to think.
3. Warm hands inspire confidence
Cold, clammy hands can be a turn off, so consider washing and drying your hands before an interview or ever wrapping them around a warm cup of coffee.
4. Present yourself well
It may seem obvious, but cut your nails, polish your shoes, make sure your hair is neat and freshly cut. Dress for one or two levels higher than the job you are applying for.
5. Don’t underestimate the power of colour
Consider what you want to convey at your interview. A hint of blue, especially navy, can show you’re in control, calm, stable and trustworthy. Gray can denote sophistication while white denotes simplicity, cleanliness, precision and goodness.
