We all love Aldi’s Special Buys, but I think it goes without saying that during a global pandemic is probably not the best time to line up outside the store in masses to get your hands on a cheap air fryer.

On a good Aldi Special Buys day, Wednesdays and Saturdays often see hordes of people flocking to the supermarket chain, but that doesn’t fly right now guys.

Aldi has now decided to stop some of their special buys promotions in locked-down areas that have harsher restrictions including; Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Central Coast, Shellharbour on the NSW South Coast, and the Blue Mountains.

This comes as a direct consequence after being called out by Ray Hadley for pushing their promotion which resulted in a packed Blacktown store a day after that apartment building was locked down.

Under current regulations, Sydney will be locked down until the 28th of August, so it won’t be until after that that we’ll start seeing Special Buys back in stores.
