If you’re still reeling over the How I Met Your Mother Finale, you’re not alone. Two years on and it still stings!

Finally some good news. NBC writers Isaac Attacker and Elizabeth Rogers have created a How I Met Your Mother spinoff titled… wait for it… How I Met You Father.

According to the Hollywood Reporter the sitcom is officially in development at Fox. Yay! The series will feature a whole new set of characters and writers, but creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will remain executive producer. However, their deal at competing studio Sony means they won’t be able to be directly involved.

Just like How I Met Your Mother the story will be told from the female POV and chronicle how the lead character met her new-spouse.

It’s the second attempt of a spinoff under a similar title. In 2014 How I Met Your Dad was commissioned but never made it past the pilot stage.
