Always running out of battery when out and about, and forgetting to bring your loaded up portable charger?
Thanks to a new smartphone case from tech startup company Nikola Labs, this could be a thing of the past.
The handy contraption converts radio waves in the air into chargeable energy for your device, meaning you can charge anywhere at any time – all you need is the case with you.
Dr Rob Lee, cofounder of Nikola Labs, explained that 97 per cent of a smart phone’s energy is wasted as it’s emitted from the device as radio wave frequencies – so they decided to find a way to harness that energy.
The recharging process is not lightning fast, but it’s a nifty new way to charge your phone using the natural surrounds around you.
The best part is that, incredibly, it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, coming in at a price tag of $99.
