It’s official, we’ve reached new levels of ridiculousness when it comes to wedding planning.
Sure, you might exclaim – ‘but what about the people who pay for doves?!’.
We can promise this is even crazier.
Because people are now paying to have someone create them a wedding… hashtag.
That’s right, some evil genius has convinced brides and grooms that they are not qualified to put together a few letters to hashtag their own wedding!
Who is this mastermind you ask?
Meet Marielle Wakim of Happily Every #Hashtagged, a magazine editor who says her special superpower is writing puns.
After creating personalised hashtags for her friends’ weddings, she realised there was a gap for a “punny hashtag generator”.
So far some of her creations have included:
(Dana Sturtz + Ryan Hill)
(Katie Gaston + Connor Dougherty)
(Paige Thomas + Chad Van Norman)
While there’s no doubting she has a talent, would you be willing to pay?
A single hashtag for your wedding starts off at $40, while for $85 Wakim will create three hashtags for you to choose from.
She also has a package for weddings, hens and buck’s night hashtags costing $115.
Perhaps if you’re about to become #MrAndMrsSmith it could be worthwhile…
