Icy conditions have blasted southeastern New South Wales this morning and amazing winds with blizzards are expected to batter the region’s alpine peaks.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a warning for the Illawarra, inclusive of the Blue Mountains, part of Central and Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains, with winds of 90km/h with peak gusts at 125km/h.

Travel could be postponed on country roads until conditions improve.
