An urgent recall has been issued for a specialty variety of Inghams chicken.

Packets of sweet chilli chicken kiev sold from Woolworths deli counters around Australia has been recalled over fears it may be contaminated with a foreign material (blue rubber).

The fear is that food products containing the foreign material (blue rubber) may cause injury if consumed.

The chicken was sold from the deli counter in Woolworths stores in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria or Western Australia and Metro stores in Victoria.

The affected product has been sold on 19, 20 and 21 May 2019 and should not be consumed.

Consumers should return the product for a full refund.
