After weeks of speculation, Sonia Kruger sensationally resigned from Today Extra on-air today.
On Thursday’s show Kruger announced:
“After eight fabulous years, I’m leaving the show and the Nine Network. I’ve had an amazing time here and I’ve been privileged to work on some top-shelf programs.”
“It’s been an absolute blast but it’s time for me to go and do something new. Tomorrow is going to be my last day on the show. As a thank you to you at home, we’re putting together something special to celebrate. There’ll be laughs and there’ll be tears.”

It’s expected Kruger will now move to the Seven Network, possibly to host Big Brother, as Nine looks to refresh its morning lineup.
