Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence has topped Forbes magazine’s world’s highest-paid actress list for the second year running, earning $US 46 million.
Melissa McCarthy takes second place.
Lawrence, 26, took the spot mainly due to receiving her slice of the profits from the final movie in the Hunger Games series, as well as a big upfront fee for upcoming space movie Passengers.
However, Lawrence’s estimated payday is well below that of Hollywood’s leading men, with Robert Downey JR last year being the top paid actor with $US 80 million. However, the top earning actors for this year won’t be released until later today.
Neither actors have come close to the highest paid pop star, Taylor Swift, who earned a cool $US170 from record sales and her world tour.
Second place McCarthy took home $US33 million, thanks mainly to her payday for Ghostbusters and her new clothing line for larger women.
Scarlett Johansson was next on the list, earning $US25 million, which was down 30 per cent year-on-year.
