If you ever needed convincing why it’s important to study maths at school, well here it is, because it could get you one of the top jobs out there.

According to careercast.com, a jobs website, those who are mathematically inclined can rejoice, with four of the top ten jobs for 2015 requiring a maths background.

Taking out the top spot was a career as an Actuary which had the highest overall rating when income, work environment, stress levels and hiring outlook were taken into consideration.

Audiologists, Mathematicians, Statisticians and Biomedical Engineers rounded out the top five spots.

At the other end of the list, Newspaper Reporters earned the title of the worst job for 2015 thanks to an increased interest in online publications.

Other careers to earn the title of worst included Lumberjacks, Enlisted Military Personnel, Cooks, Broadcasters and Photojournalists.
