We’re feeling pretty cautious as we head into this season of The Bachelorette with Ali Oetjen after the mess that was Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins’ season Of The Bachelor.

In case you somehow missed the explosive finale of The Bachelor last week that saw Nick end his season with a world first, our Bachie shocked the nation when he decided to leave the show single, dumping both of the final two girls Sophie Tieman and Brittany Hockley.

And now it seems like we have a little Bachie PTSD and are just slightly concerned that after it’s happened once, it could easily happen again on the upcoming season of The Bachelorette.

Could Ali Oetjen End Up Choosing No One On The Bachelorette?

When Ali Oetjen joined Jackie and Beau Ryan in studio this morning, they decided to ask her what she thought about Nick’s finale and whether she ever felt like ending her season in the same shocking way.

“Are you ready for what’s about to go on?” asked Beau as Ali’s season is about to kick off tonight. “Nick has been quickly turned in the last two weeks into the enemy…it is quite brutal.”

Ali told us that she actually empathised with Nick and thought that he made the right decision for his personal journey.

“He’d be struggling. I definitely empathise with him,” revealed Ali. “But I feel like in his position he didn’t settle for anyone, which was his journey.”

“I think it would be wrong if he wasn’t ready going in,” continued Ali. “But at the same time if those two girls weren’t right for him well then he did the right thing.”

With Ali appearing to be one of the minority of people in Australia who thinks that Nick did the right thing by choosing no one, we immediately wondered whether this was something that Ali ever considered during her season of The Bachelorette.

(We don’t think our hearts could take another double dumping in a Bachie finale…)

“I Don’t Want To Be Settling For Anyone” – Ali Oetjen On The Bachelorette

Our Bachelorette said that she did freak out thinking that she wouldn’t find the one and she told us that if that was the case, she was never going to settle for someone who wasn’t her “Mr Right”.

“I kind of freaked out just before I was going to go in and thought, ‘What if I don’t find someone’, like I don’t want to be settling for anyone, I want that Mr Right so I don’t have to go through this all again,” explained Ali.

“Did you decide going in if you don’t find someone, you’re not going to choose anyone?” Jackie asked.

“I wasn’t going to settle, no”, replied Ali.

So basically if there wasn’t that spark with anyone, Ali would likely pull a Honey Badger and choose no one! But she reassured us and made us feel a bit better by saying that she actually had her pick of amazing guys on this season.

“That was definitely playing on my mind but that just all disappeared as soon as I met them all,” Ali said.

So don’t freak out just yet! We get the feeling that Ali does choose one of the fellas on the show. (and we’re a pretty reliable source when it comes to this seeing as we guessed it from the start with Nick)

But on the off chance that Ali’s Mr Right isn’t one of the men competing for her heart, she definitely won’t be picking anyone for the sake of it!

So buckle up! The bumpy ride starts tonight on Channel 10 at 7:30pm!
