Sydney road users have been warned to expect heavier traffic than usual from Tuesday as part of the works to upgrade busy local roads linked to the Northern Beaches Hospital.
A section of Allambie Road at Frenchs Forest will be closed for two nights and a length of Rodborough Road will be shut on the weekend.
A Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokesman said the traffic conditions will be changed on Allambie Road on Tuesday and Wednesday this week between 9.30pm and 5am.
“Work will be carried out to install drainage, kerb and gutter, resurface the road as well as asphalting and line marking.’’
“Allambie Rd will be partially closed for two nights, between Rodborough Rd and Warringah Rd to allow work to be carried out safely.”
During the works, all northbound lanes heading towards Warringah Road will be closed, however, one southbound lane will remain open for motorists heading towards Allambie Hieghts.
One of the right turn lanes from Warringah Rd onto Allambie Road will also be closed for the safety of workers and motorists.
A Spokesman went on to say “Heavier than usual traffic conditions are expected while work is carried out so motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead.’’
