At least sixteen people, mostly children, have been stabbed at a bus stop near a park, just outside Tokyo, according to a Japanese broadcaster.
In Kawasaki, Japan, eight children are among sixteen people who were knifed during a rampage at 7:45am local time.
The attacker, who is in his 40s or 50s, was carrying two knives and is thought to have stabbed mostly young children before stabbing himself.
He is now unconscious.
‘A man stabbed them,’ Dai Nagase, spokesman for the Kawasaki Fire Department, told AFP.
‘We received an emergency call at 7:44 am, which said four elementary schoolchildren were stabbed.’
