Naturalist Sir David Attenborough has narrated the video clip for Adele’s hit track Hello.
Appearing on UK’s Radio 1, Attenborough was asked by DJ Greg James to read a script in his iconic voice.
Attenborough was intially worried Adele would be “cross” with him but gave the narration a go like a good sport.
“The year is 2015. The world appears to have a green tint to it and there are also some dead insects in the foreground, but don’t worry about that for now,” Attenborough orates.
“Look as the world’s most famous pop star zooms down a dirt track in an old Mini – Money certainly hasn’t changed her.
“Battling against strong wings and the weight of expectation, she’s convinced now is her time to strike. She, like all pop stars, needs to hunt to survive.”
He continues: “But there’s a problem, the signal is poor and she hasn’t upgraded her handset since 1999 #FlipPhone. She goes inside to seek shelter from the elements and find a landline, yuck,” Attenborough says.
“Her surrounding are unfamiliar and unwelcoming, but this is no match for such a cool customer so she decides to tidy up a bit. Oh, dusty, isn’t it?
“We are about to witness one of the great phenomena of the natural world. It’s important for such a delicate and finely tuned animal that the lighting and the setting is just right.
“And now, it is, the lesser spotted Adele is about to be everywhere again – Hello.”
Attenborough is known for his voice over work of natural history programs.
Response to the video was unsurprisingly welcoming and witty.
“I think Sir David Attenborough should get an attitudinal knighthood for that video. Sir David Attenborough. Tha’s what he seserves,” YouTube subscriber izzyquizzy wrote.
