Her addition to the crew is in conjunction with a number of additional resources as part of Sesame Workshop aimed towards kids with Autism and breaking down the stigma.
The program is aptly titled See Amazing.

Sesame Street doesn’t shy away from the bigger issues and often go that extra mile to represent diversity through race, religion, disability and illness.
And this is no different.
But unfortunately we will not see Julia alongside the main cast just yet.
Research has shown that autistic children are increasingly gravitating to online content, so Julia will first make her mark online.
We hope to see her in a broader number of appearances in future!
To understand just how Sesame Street is going about introducing an autistic character, they have released this adorable song.
