A lot of people who have experienced divorce in their family know that things don’t always turn out all happy and peaceful. In fact, it’s pretty rare when they do.

And so you can kind of understand why people began to talk about how kind of strange it was that one of the most famous family’s were somehow making things work with their new and unusual family dynamic.

Of course, we’re talking about Kourtney Kardashian, her baby daddy Scott Disick and his current girlfriend Sofia Richie.

Kourtney and Scott share three young children together, Mason, Penelope and Reign, but weren’t able to make things work in their relationship. While they technically weren’t married, their breakup still had a large impact on their lives due to their shared family.

Since then, 36-year-old Scott has started dating Lionel Richie’s 21-year-old daughter, Sofia.

Now, while some family’s might not even be able to be in the same room as each other following a family break up, Scott and Kourtney were demolishing stereotypes by hanging out together and even going on holidays together along with Scott’s GF Sofie and the kids!

Scott opened up about how he and Kourtney knew that they had to push through the awkwardness and make things work for the sake of their kids while chatting with Kyle and Jackie O this morning.

And he said that he was proud that his own family dynamic has acted like a role model for other families and has demonstrated that it is possible to all live harmoniously together.

“I love the way you guys have worked out your family, you and the ex-mrs,” Kyle told Scott this morning.

“And now you’re taking Sofia on holidays. It’s just really nice to watch how a family can actually do what’s best for the kids and leave their own problems in the past.”

“Yeah I appreciate it,” Scott said.

“I mean, at first it was just a matter of it being good for our family but now with the fact that it is on TV and it does show other people that it can happen, it is cool that now I do hear stories of people that weren’t able to do those things and were struggling and now they’re able to because they saw that it can be done.

“You know, it’s very touching to know the people that are now enjoying their lives a little bit more with their families,” he continued, adding that the best way to go about it is to sit down and sort out all of your differences.

“You know, you’ve just got to get out those differences that you have, work through them and get through it because there’s a bigger picture and I don’t think anybody wants to lose time with their children and it sucks that you know, people get divorced and then all of a sudden you see your kids half the time when you never divorced the kids, you divorced one of the partners.”

Kourtney has also spoken out about making things work with Scott in the past, posting a selfie with him to Instagram earlier this year.

“I’m so proud of the place we’re at as parents to our children now and all the work we’ve put into getting here,” she said in the caption.
