There are three things you can count on in life: death, taxes and Taylor Swift dropping a new album toward the end of every even-numbered year.

Swiftie has been employing this foolproof, award-winning technique for a DECADE, since her very first record way back in 2006, so we’ve been understandably giddy and counting down the days til October.

It’s been a long time since 1989, guys. We’re ready.

Then the CEO of Tay’s record company got involved, dashing all of our hopes and dreams in one giant “NOPE” on Twitter this morning.

It wouldn’t be terribly surprising if she postponed new music, considering the sheer amount of Bad Blood (geddit?!) that’s been following the singer around over the past few months; between her split with Calvin, the birth of Hiddleswift and Kim launching her one-woman character assassination on Tay, hitting the promotional trail is probably the last thing she wants to do.

But there’s still a chance! Borchetta was only responding to a question about new music coming in October.

It could be November, like when Fearless launched.

Or it could be tomorrow! You never know.

We’ll just be sitting here, waiting.
