Robert De Niro hasn’t held back when giving a speech to the graduating class of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

The actor gave a hilariously blunt speech that would make your grandmother blush, telling graduates: “You made it and you’re f*****”.

Of course it wasn’t all doom and gloom, but De Niro’s advice certainly came with a heavy dose of realism which the crowd wildly applauded.

“Think about it, the graduates from the College of Nursing – they all have jobs. The graduates from the College of Dentistry – fully employed,” he told the crowd.

“When it comes to the arts, passion should always trump common sense. You aren’t just following your dreams, you’re reaching for your destiny.”

We’re pretty sure anyone working in the arts will agree with his sentiments completely!
