If you ever get the chance to fly, you’ll probably stare into the business or first class cabin and long to be up nearer the front of the plane.

It’s one of the simple pleasures in life, being able to turn left when you walk onto a plane.

Now there’s even more reason.

QANTAS have just revealed their new first class, SEVEN-course tasting menu for spring – and let me tell you, it looks incredible!

Passengers in First Class have the choice of a seven-course tasting menu or an a-la-carte menu on A380 flights between Sydney, Melbourne, Dubai and London and also flights to Los Angeles and Dallas/Fort Worth.


Fancy a tartlet of caviar, a lobster cocktail or warm chocolate fondant – what about premium juices? You have absolutely have that.

The menu was designed by Rockpool chef Neil Perry, who has been working with Qantas for the past 19 years.

The two new dishes for business class passengers include spaghetti with prawns, sauteed zucchini, lemon, garlic and and caper pangrattato and crumbed pork cutlet with garlic butter, green beans, roast potatoes, fennel and green apple remoulade.


Cue drool.

Economy passengers will now be served gozleme snacks.

Sydney and Melbourne international first class lounge passengers can choose from five new additions to the menu, including a becalmed colada – a twist on a traditional pina colada – a watermelon, mint and lychee granita, a puff pastry tart of roasted beetroot, sweet onion, watercress and pecan, sticky beef with carrot puree, soy and ginger glaze and a strawberry and passionfruit pavlova.

Qantas updates its menus each season (four times a year) and each one takes about 11 months to develop.


Premium economy passengers now have the choice of salad with chicken and udon noodles, Asian style slaw and sesame soy dressing. Economy passengers can now try cajun salmon with black eye beans, green beans and a rice pilaf.
