Australian celebrities are set to be in the kitchen next year, as Channel Seven gets ready for a home-grown version of Hell’s Kitchen.
The new show is currently casting and will follow the UK version, which features well-known celebrities in the kitchen, rather than the general public.
The show is set to be filmed for six weeks in Sydney from the middle of March through to April.
Every aspect of the restaurant will be run by celebrities, and they will have to man it, every minute of every day while it is open.
However, the head chef is unlikely to be Gordan Ramsey, but sources say it is expected another Michelin star chef is to take the helm.
The show ran for five series in the UK between 2004 and 2009, but it’s been a huge success in the USA, where is about to enter its 16th season.
Hell’s Kitchen Australia will join an already large amount of cooking shows on TV, with Masterchef and My Kitchen Rules established sofa favourites.
Channel Nine will also be throwing its hat into the ring with new show Family Food Fight in 2017.
