We already knew that Zac Efron had been keeping a low profile over in New South Wales for the past few months.

He was reportedly seeing out the pandemic in Byron Bay, alongside his model girlfriend Vanessa Valladares.

Now, the High School Musical star is heading to South Australia to film a new Stan original film.

The 33-year-old is starring in the new film Gold, which is set against the Aussie outback.

The film is a thriller about two drifters travelling through the outback, before they stumble across the biggest gold nugget ever found.

The pair come up with a plan to take the bounty, with one of the men leaving to source the gear to excavate the gold while the other stays to deal with the outback’s harsh conditions and the fear that he has been left alone in the middle of nowhere.

Filming gets underway *somewhere* in the South Aussie outback this month, but we can’t tell you exactly where!

The movie will premiere exclusively on Stan next year.
