Ever since Madeleine McCann vanished in May 2007, this highly-reported abduction has become one of the biggest unsolved missing-person case in modern history.
Following the release of the Netflix documentary series, The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, the McCann family spokesman has come forward with shocking claims about what really happened in Praia da Luz almost 12 years ago.
Communications consultant and former BBC journalist Clarence Mitchell – who has worked with the family since 2007 – has told The Telegraph that Maddie was “taken to order” by strangers.
“I asked the British authorities what they think happened and if there was any family involvement.
“They assured me it was just a rare case of strange abduction.”
He also admitted that “a sexual motive is an obvious possibility.”
Mitchell wholeheartedly believes that Kate and Gerry were not involved in their daughter’s disappearance, and has slammed those criticising the couple for leaving their children alone while they ate at the resort’s restaurant a few metres away.
“A lot of it is misinformed, misguided and based purely on assumptions or lack of knowledge.”
