Married At First Sight‘s Mel is allegedly considering taking legal action against ‘ex-partner’ Dino for secretly recording a phone conversation she had with her sister on the reality show.
Talking to the Herald Sun, Mel claims that Dino sent the taped conversation to producers of the show before she found out about it.
“It’s illegal to record a conversation when you’re not in the conversation,” she told the publication.
“When he recorded my sister and I… I was talking about personal things, family things… and he sent that to people I don’t know.
The publication reports that the 38-year-old was “contacted by a lawyer” after the episode aired, stating: “I feel like half of me wants to proceed with [legal action] to show that… it’s not the right thing to do”.
Dino allegedly recorded the conversation to prove that she said ‘hurtful things’ about him.
“They [edited] it that way so he had a reason to do what he did, because it’s illegal, and [producers] knew it was illegal,” she said.
“They let him off with a good edit. He played the victim and made me look mean.”
Mel reportedly asked Dino to play the recording but it never happened.
“If he had a reason for making the recording, then play the fricken recording.”
In response, an Endemol Shine Australia spokesperson said: “Dino was reprimanded at the time and the recording was deleted.”
