Ever since it was rumoured that a spin-off show of our favourite reality series Married At First Sight was in the works with Channel Nine, we’ve been doing two things.

1. Praying that it’s true

2. Thinking about which past contestants would be willing to participate

Last month it was rumoured that a spin-off show, similar to Ten’s Bachelor In Paradise, was coming called MAFS: Honeymoon Island, following the ratings success of the show.

It was said that it would follow the US format of the show and would see contestants from past seasons put together on a tropical island for a second chance at love.

We’ve already heard that last season’s Ryan Gallagher has been approached about the show, but now a bride from this current season of MAFS has hinted that she might take part too!

Melissa Lucarelli, who was left heartbroken after her marriage to Dino Hira didn’t work out, has posted a picture to Instagram, teasing that she’d be keen to head back to reality TV and join Honeymoon Island!

In the picture, accompanied by a boomerang, Mel shows off her fit figure as she shops for bikinis.

In the caption she wrote, “Ready and waiting for MAFS Honeymoon Island?”.

While it hasn’t been officially confirmed by Channel Nine if the spin-off is actually in the works, it seems some of the past contestants are certainly keen and getting excited.

“Everyone’s messaging everyone to try and see if they’ve heard anything or know anyone that’s been formally approached by Nine,” a source said to Daily Mail Australia.

“Other people have even joked about hiding their current relationships if it means they’ll get back on television.”

Some names being thrown up in the air at the moment include Mel’s ex Dino, Ines Basic, Ryan Gallagher and Tracey Jewel.
