Lady Gaga took over the Kyle and Jackie O show this morning to chat all about her latest single and hit ‘Stupid Love’.

The song was released the day before Mardi Gras here in Sydney and instantly became a hit amongst her fans.

Speaking on air with us this morning, Gaga told us that she was so thankful to have a fanbase behind her that supports her new music.

“It just means a lot to me that when I put out music, they always seem to rally around me and my message and I really wanted ‘Stupid Love’ to put a sense of positivity in the world and remind people that we have love and it’s the most beautiful thing that we have,” she told us.

“And that kindness still exists even though things don’t always feel easy, I think it’s really great to feel grateful for what we do have and love is one of those things.”

While the song is supposed to bring about positive vibes when it comes to love, Gaga revealed to us that she actually wasn’t in a great place in her life when she sat down to write it.

She told us that she was single at the time and felt like she had put her career above her personal life and that left her feeling “very sad”.

But now she has realised through writing her song ‘Stupid Love’ that it’s okay to want love and this actually prepared her for her new relationship.

“That’s what the song’s about though. I was single and I wrote the lyrics,” Lady Gaga told us, before reciting part of her song.

“It’s very direct and it’s very simple,” she continued. “I would just like to say on behalf of every single woman, that it’s okay to want love.”

Speaking about creating the entire Chromatica album, Gaga went on to explain that she really wasn’t feeling happy at the time, despite writing some music that ended up being really celebratory and happy.

“It was a really hard process for me because I was going through a time in my life… I was actually having a lot of trouble with it Jackie. I did not like being single,” she told us.

“I felt like my career had taken over everything and my personal life was something that I didn’t get to have as much time to pursue and have control over and, you know, I got very sad.

“It wasn’t just about that, I had other things in my life and other traumas that were hard for me but my producer would come up to me in my kitchen and he would say, ‘Come on let’s go write a song’ and I would either be crying or being like, I don’t know, I’m just going to write something sad and he’s like, ‘Come on, let’s go. We’re gonna go write some music’.

“And it was amazing that I actually ended up writing really happy celebratory music even though I was down, and it showed me how strong I was. And then eventually I became strong enough to kind of like, let go.”

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer told us that she actually found writing the music to be rather therapeutic and it freed her.

“It made me not only make a song that now is like really big all over the world and I’m so proud but it also made me open for a place where I could fall in love,” Lady Gaga told us.

“I think that opening your heart in that way can be very difficult and it’s scary and I have wonderful friends around me and creative people that help me do it and I love them all.”

It’s so nice to hear that Gaga is in a much better place now and is actually moving forward with her love life! Recently she’s been sharing pictures of herself and her new boyfriend on Instagram, looking all happy and loved up!
