Lady Gaga has just announced a return to the pop spotlight with a brand new track titled ‘Perfect Illusion’ to be released next month in September.
iHeartRadio got the first listen to the track on August 17 at our Music Summit at iHeartRadio global headquarters in NYC, and we can tell you it’ll fit right in alongside some of her best dance floor anthems. It’s a cut that touches the highest of highs and lowest of lows in a relationship gone wrong, thus, the perfect illusion. “The song is about modern ecstasy . . . .We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it,” Gaga explained.
The track is a collaboration with super-producer Mark Ronson and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. At the summit, Gaga recalled the sunlight pouring through the trees in the window as the trio finalised the record at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California. “I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it,” she added.
