Sally Obermeder has had a tough gig. She was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer the day before her daughter Annabelle was born, and had to undergo eight vigorous months of chemotherapy in a bid to save her life.

The Daily Edition has fought on and bounced back with gusto, she turned her hurdles into something positive, by dedicating her life to exploring a healthy lifestyle and sharing that with the world in the form of her green smoothie book and recipe books.

Then, in January she opened up about a double blow, a miscarriage and the passing of her mother-in-law.

Now, Obermeder has some truly INCREDIBLE news. She and her husband Marcus are expecting their second child, via surrogate!

After doctors told her it was far too dangerous for her to be pregnant herself, she has sought the help of a surrogate to carry the couple’s second bub.

Unsurprisingly, four-year-old Annabelle is thrilled. In the picture posted by Sally to Instagram, Annabelle is holding up a sign that reads: “I’m going to be a big sister.”

Obermeder added that she will share her family’s “story of ups and downs” in an exclusive interview with Seven’s Sunday Night this weekend.

In an interview with New Idea magazine, the TV presenter spoke of her desire to have more children, but said doctors had warned her that another pregnancy was “far too dangerous”.

“I’ve been told in no uncertain terms that it’s far too dangerous for me to be pregnant again, in terms of the cancer returning,” she told the publication.

“I acknowledge that I’m extremely lucky to have one child … But the yearning and desire to be a mum again is so strong and it has not passed.

“Before I was sick I always pictured I would have two or three children, if I was lucky enough, and I still want that for Annabelle.”

Congratulations to the Obermeder family!
