They have one of the most solid relationships in Hollywood.
And while actress Deborra-Lee Furness knows it’s just a part of the business watching her hunky hubby Hugh Jackman kiss other women on screen, it seems there is one actress he is not allowed to star opposite.
‘I’ve told his agent he’s not allowed to work with Angelina [Jolie],’ Deborra admitted to Today Show co-host Lisa Wilkinson.
‘I’m sure she’s very nice and I love what she’s doing – shining a light on awareness for adoption…’ she trailed off, before adding: ‘just kidding’.
But a blushing Hugh, in the interview which aired on Monday’s show, seemed to give away the reality of the situation with a nervous giggle.
Sex siren Angelina Jolie is the woman of many men’s dreams and it appears the usually confident blonde beauty doesn’t want her husband to even have the chance to fall in love with the actress and her diversely adopted family.
After 19 years of wedded bliss, an especially rare feat in showbiz, the couple credit their strong marriage to putting family first – which includes their two adopted children Oscar, 14, and Ava, 9.
‘It just goes to show, if you get it right, if you pick the right partner then you traverse all those trevails and challenges,’ the 59-year-old actress added.
‘Deb had a rule, never apart for more than two weeks,’ Hugh explained, adding that early into their relationship he said “yes” to everything she wanted.
‘Deb had been on enough sets to see the pitfalls…it was my first job when we met, I didn’t know anything else but we’ve never been apart for more than two weeks.
‘We’ve managed to keep that,’ the 46-year-old actor added proudly.
‘And we don’t wanna be [apart] – he tells really good jokes and I miss him,’ Deborra-Lee confessed.
The duo’s intimate interview was done by the breakfast TV host before the couple’s Adopt Change fundraiser in Melbourne on Wednesday.
The couple also revealed the Jackman/Furness clan will be in Australia for the next few months.
