A helicopter has crashed in the Northern Territory’s Kakadu National Park, trapping three people inside.

“Three people were on board the helicopter at the time of the crash including two Kakadu National Park staff members and an external contractor,” a Parks Australia spokesperson told 9News.

“The helicopter and people on board had been involved in an aerial feral animal cull being undertaken in the park. No further details are available at present.”

One passenger has been winched to safety by a CareFlight helicopter with the two others awaiting extraction.

The helicopter is reported to have crashed just after 10am this morning.
