Girls star Jemima Kirke has the world talking after she took to the red carpet at a recent event with – gasp – unshaven armpits.
Some gossip sites immediately criticised the actress for her decision to stay natural, with one writing, “Our immediate reaction was…cringe!”
Another wrote that she looked “sophisticated” until “that unfortunate armpit pic surfaced”.
What’s the big deal with a woman choosing to keep her body hair natural?
Kirke’s only reaction to the backlash was to retweet one follower’s response to all the hoo-hah:

We think it’s great for women to do whatever they want with their bodies, no matter what society expects of them.
