Kelly Clarkson has copped her fair share of backlash recently. The singer, who gave birth to her daughter, River Rose in June last year has receieved a considerable amount of backlash over her weight.
Katie Hopkins was one of the first to give her hard time via mean tweets that are supremely ‘Katie Hopkins’ style, saying that Clarkson shouldn’t blame her weight gain on the fact that she had a baby.
Now, it’s Fox News Host Chris Wallace that’s come under fire for giving Kelly grief about her weight.
Wallace has now issued an apology to Clarkson after making negative remarks about her weight on a radio show earlier this month.
During an appearance on The Mike Gallagher Show, Chris said that Kelly has a “lovely voice”, but “She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while.” This came off the back of show host Gallager asking Wallace if he’d seen Clarkson recently because “Holy cow, did she blow up.”
However, both Wallace and Gallagher have been quick to backtrack on their comments.
“I sincerely apologize to Kelly Clarkson for my offensive comment,” he said in a statement to Us Weekly. “I admire her remarkable talent and that should have been the focus of any discussion about her.”

Gallagher also apologised for his comments in a blog post, saying that as a “tubby” person himself, he is “the last person in the world who should bring up anyone’s weight.” “I couldn’t possibly feel any worse than I do for making an observation that led to the conclusion that I ‘fat-shamed’ this talented and classy entertainer,” he wrote. “It was a really stupid thing for me to do.”
