A Geelong family dinner has taken a dangerous turn when a family discovered plastic tucked into their Woolworths chicken Kievs.
A man has told local news paper Geelong advertiser that the family sat down to dinner only to find hazardous pieces of broken blue plastic inside their crumbed chicken kievs.
He said it was like someone had “smashed up a blue pen lid” inside the deli chicken, which was bought from Woolworths Bell Post.
“We had just started eating the dinner my daughter had cooked and I said: ‘what the h*ll is that?
“It was like someone had smashed up a blue pen lid inside the chicken.
A Woolworths spokesperson said they took food safety and quality “very seriously”.
“At Woolworths we take food safety and quality very seriously,” a statement read.
“We’ve seen the customer’s report and we’re looking into the matter with our supplier in line with established procedures.”
